LEXUS TO STAGE “A JOURNEY OF THE SENSES" IN COLLABORATION WITH DESIGNER PHILIPPE NIGRO AND CHEF HAJIME YONEDA
Lexus have announced that it will join the world’s largest design event, the Salone del Mobile di Milano 2015 (Milan Design Week) with an installation entitled LEXUS – A JOURNEY OF THE SENSES, from Tuesday, April 14 to Sunday, April 19 at Carrozzeria Torneria in Zona Tortona.
Philippe Nigro, a French designer with eclectic experience in product and space design, was chosen to design the space. Additionally, Lexus called on Japanese chef Hajime Yoneda for food design. Yoneda, who earned a 3-star Michelin rating in 2009, has risen rapidly to international recognition for his unique and original interpretation of gastronomic tradition. The fruit of this collaboration between two internationally acclaimed creators with very different backgrounds promises to be a truly unique experience.
LEXUS – A JOURNEY OF THE SENSES aims to stimulate the senses and enable participants to experience unexpected new connections and insights that reflect the excitement of the Lexus journey. The installation will stimulate the senses of visitors and provide them with an imaginative experience that explores the limitless possibilities of the world of design.
“Senses" is the theme of this year's Lexus Design Award as well as an expression of the driving pleasure experienced with Lexus automobiles. The twelve nominated projects of the third Lexus Design Award will also be displayed in the Lexus Space.
A press preview will be held on Monday April 13 from 10 AM to 6 PM, at the Lexus Space, La Torneria, Via Tortona 32, Milan. The space will open to the public from Tuesday April 14 to Sunday April 19 from 11 AM to 9 PM.
